The City of Geneva has updated the schedule for its ongoing underground electric replacement project, which aims to enhance service reliability in the community.

The revised 2025-26 program schedule includes the following project areas:

  • South Harrison Street near Spring Street – July 14 to Sept. 15
  • James Street west of Ninth Street – Sept. 15 to Oct. 3
  • 2000 South Batavia Avenue – Started in November
  • James Street from Third to Fifth streets – To Be Announced

Construction dates are estimates and may be subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen factors.

The City’s contractor, Utility Dynamics, is installing conduit through utility easements and public right-of-way. Electrical transformers, pedestals and street lights also will be replaced. The City will notify residents regarding scheduled power outages that are required to connect to the new electric infrastructure.
